HKAUW’s 2018 Scholarship Presentation cum Christmas Tea Party

HKAUW’s 2018 Scholarship Presentation cum Christmas Tea Party has been successfully held on 22 December at the Polytechnic University Staff Club. Our President, Dr. Jackie Yan, delivered a speech to welcome the donors, scholarship recipients and friends. She also presented special gifts to our generous donors. 

A total of 14 scholarships were presented to 8 undergraduates, 2 to pre-clinical students and 4 to postgraduates in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements and commitments in social services. It is for the first time in HKAUW’s history that the Association has established scholarships to pre-clinical students. Ms Julia Woo and Dr Jacinth Seto observed that there were few recognized female doctors in the medical field and they offered generous donations in response to support women to pursue higher education in this stream. 

Ms Pansy Wong gave a vote of thanks to HKAUW and the donors on behalf of the scholarship recipients. Each of the postgraduate and pre-clinical scholarships recipients shared their academic and career aspirations and and experience of community services. The memorable moments of this scholarship presentation were captured by group photo-taking. 

Friends and guests enjoyed the tea buffet and aquatinted with one another. The 2018 Scholarship Presentation & Christmas Dinner Party came to the end with the closing remarks by the President.
