Aim
This scholarship aims at recognising and encouraging postgraduates with interesting and original research projects, who demonstrate leadership in team work and have contributions or show clear potentials as an achiever in their chosen disciplines.

Award
The successful candidate will be presented a certificate of recognition and an award for one of the Postgraduate Scholarships below:
	Four HKAUW Thomas HC Cheung Post-graduate Scholarships of
	HK$20,000 each
	One HKAUW Thomas HC Cheung (Outstanding) Postgraduate of $30,000
There is no restriction for the award, but it is expected that awardees spend it in connection with their research such as attend conferences, purchase research materials or computers.

Eligibility Criteria
	Must be Full Members of the Association
	Must be registered full-time students
	Nominated by the Universities granting degrees to women in Hong Kong
	Demonstrates leadership and have contributions in their chosen disciplines
	including global outlook and the promotion of womanhood
	Is required to serve the community for at least half a year after she received
	the scholarship which includes serving as a member of HKAUW Executive
	Committee

Application Procedure
The completed application forms must be returned to the Student Affairs Office on or before 30 th September 2007 . The application form can also be downloaded from the website: http://www.hkauw.org/

Announcement of Results
Short-listed candidates are required to attend an interview in Oct/Nov 2007. Applicants who are not notified of the outcome by late October may assume that the application is unsuccessful. The Association does NOT provide critiques for unsuccessful applications. The results of the award will be notified around late November.

Presentation of Awards
The certificate and award will be presented to the scholarship recipients at an Awards Presentation Ceremony scheduled in December. The scholarship recipients are required to attend the Ceremony and the Gala Dinner.
